Eight Speedy Months

Our sweet little Hadley is eight months today! I can't believe another month has already gone by. She is growing so quickly. We absolutely love this little girl. She is so mellow and sweet. We can't wait to celebrate her first Christmas this month. We love you little one.

Daddy's Girls

Makenna and Hadley truly are so lucky to have such a great daddy. Travis is such a fun dad and always makes time for his girls. The first thing he does when he gets home is play with his girls (tie and all- he doesn't even change first). I love how excited Makenna gets when she hears Travis open the door. And Hadley loves to cuddle up in her daddy's arms.

Bed time around here is a team effort. I put Hadley to bed and he gets Makenna in bed. One of my favorite things is to stand outside Makenna's door and hear Travis telling her stories. (He's quite the storyteller.)

Seeing Travis as a dad makes me love him that much more. Makenna and Hadley are so blessed to have him. Thanks for being such an amazing dad Trav! There's no one else I would rather travel this journey of parenthood with.

Seven Months Old!

Hadley was seven months a few days back and I can not believe it! Time is passing way too quickly. For some reason, seven months seems a lot harder to believe than six months- I think because I know we are on the climb to one year. It makes me sad to see her getting so big so fast- I just want to enjoy her being a baby for a while. But it seems that because she is the second child, time goes so much faster. Even though it does make me a little sad, I also absolutely love the age she is at. I love that she plays with us and laughs. She is so happy and easy going. We are so grateful she came into our family seven months ago. We just can't get enough of our little Hadley!

Here are some new things that she is doing:

• sitting up (for over a month now)
• gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth
• she loves to eat (especially fruit)
• enjoys holding and "chewing" biter biscuits
• ADORES Makenna- she gets so excited every time she sees her
• can't get enough of being in the bath- she's a splasher!
• hates getting dressed and getting her face washed
• loves to be held and talked to

Our Wild Things

Changes

In the six years Travis and I have been married, we have had more changes in the past 6 months than at any other time in our marriage. The first change was Travis getting the job as principal at Aberdeen High School. This is such a huge blessing in our lives and such an amazing career move for Travis. It really is amazing that he is a principal at 30 years old. I can't think of anyone more deserving. He has worked so hard- for the past 2 years he has been a teacher, a soccer coach, a graduate student, a father, and a husband. The news of the new job came in perfect timing as we welcomed little Hadley, who we just can't get enough of. We quickly learned how much more work it is to have two kids than just one, and more fun as well. Makenna turned three in the spring and is getting so big and is learning so much. I then decided to stop teaching for a few years while I get to be a mom to our sweet little girls, which I absolutely love and has been so great for our family. We then sold our house in 7 days and had to figure out where to go from there. After much looking, thought, and prayer, we decided to move to Aberdeen and build a home. We have now moved and are in a rental while we wait for our house to be finished in January. So here we are in Aberdeen- learning how to be country folk. Travis' job is going great and he is writing his last grand graduate paper to graduate in December. So, here's to changes, blessings, and going with the flow.
