Little Man is 2

Camden turned two on September 1. It is fun that his birthday often falls on Labor Day weekend. We decided to spend his birthday in Ketchum since my mom lives nearby and it is her birthday too. We thought a picnic at a park would be fun, especially since this kid likes to run around. It was a beautiful day, except my mom woke up sick... on her birthday. :( We missed her, but the party must go on.

Morgan's cute guy, Daniel offered to cook us up some bbq chicken, little did I know how delicious and perfectly cooked it would be. While he did this, the kids played on the toys then Camden opened his presents. We then ate the delicious picnic lunch and tried to avoid the crazy bees. (I have never seen so many bees.)

And we, of course, ended with the cake. It was chocolate, so Camden and everyone else were big fans. But his favorite was when everyone sang to him and cheered for him after he blew out the candles.

It was a success of a party. Camden loved it and it was simple so Travis and I loved it too. And it was fun to have a birthday with a lot of my family there.

Happy Birthday sweet boy, you bring more joy and laughter to our family than we could have imagined. We are so glad that you joined our family 2 short years ago!

Splash Park

After the party, we headed to the splash park to let the kids run around in the water. They loved it!

 Evening
During the evening, we all went on a bike ride. This was a big deal for Hadley who recently mastered riding a bike. We rode down to River Run, watched the paragliders land, and rode to dinner. Camden loves the bike trailer, so it was the perfect way to end his birthday.

Wagon Days

We spent Labor Day weekend in Ketchum. It was Camden's and my mom's birthdays (pictures to come) and we had never been to Wagon Days. We stayed with Morgan in her cozy condo in town. We watched the non-motorized (and very slow) parade, walked around town, went to the park and splash pad, rode bikes, went out to dinner, and enjoyed my family.

Color Vibe Run

In August, my running buddy, Jeni, and I ran the Color Vibe run. It was the most fun I have ever had running. We were colorful from start to finish. We joined Jeni's sister-in-law and cute nieces. It was fun to get to know this sweet family and it was a fun surprise to learn that Todd used to work for Richard at Gateway Printers. 

Jeni and I always have fun running together and push each other. We broke free of the crowds and enjoyed running through the empty color stations. Oh yeah- bring on the color! This was the fastest I had ever run a 5k- 25 minutes! It felt great to cruise past people. It is so rewarding to be in a good running place after 6 months of hard work and early mornings. Can't wait to do this run again next year!

11 Years Later...

Travis and I had our wedding ceremony down at Blue Lakes Country Club. While we were down there with my dad, we thought it would be fun to take a picture with our little family close to where we had a wedding picture taken. It's fun to look at how far we have come in 11 short years. What a sweet life we live together...

Dad & MJ

My dad and Mary Jo finally got hitched. They have been engaged for a few years and finally got married. I love the story. They had their marriage license and were just waiting to go to the courthouse to get married. They were at dinner with a group of friends down at the country club at a little cottage they have on the golf course. And the friends wanted to marry them right then. So they asked if anyone had a minister license to marry them. And this man did. He said, "I'll come marry you after I finish the last two holes." And so he did. They were married amongst a small group of friends. The story just fits them.

So, they had a barbecue with friends and family to celebrate getting married. It was fun. 

It is an interesting thing to have your parents remarry when you are older. My mom got married in May and my dad got married in July. I wasn't present at either, but they were both very small, private, and spur of the moment. I am happy for both of them and love who they married. It is odd to gain new family at my age, but it is a perk to it all.
