All Dressed in White

The day after Makenna's baptism (see previous post), I took her out for some pictures in her pretty white dress.

I had bought this dress a year earlier because it was such a good deal. So, it had been hanging in her closet all this time. A year is a long time to wait for a little girl. She was excited to finally wear her fancy white dress.

I took her to our local golf course for some pictures since it's the only place around here that is green. The sweet lady gave us a golf cart to cruise around in as a gift to Makenna for being baptized. The girls LOVED cruising around and driving the golf cart. It was definitely a highlight for them. I could just kiss that lady for making taking pictures fun!

(I finally purchased a fancy DSLR camera and I was trying to figure it out with these pictures. I definitely have a lot to learn, but had fun using it and it helped that I had a pretty subject.)

Makenna's Baptism

Makenna recently turned 8 and chose to get baptized.

Her baptism date was actually supposed to be the day before Easter, but since it was Easter weekend and spring break, we decided to do it the next month. She was excited.

The bad news was that she got a nasty virus 3 days before her big day and she still was fighting a fever that day. She was a good sport and made it through, but I felt bad for her.

The baptism, confirmation, and the program went well. She liked the baptism part. Right after she got baptized, I was drying her off and she said, "that was fun and so warm, I just want to do it again".  And she was excited to sing with Hadley and some friends and cousin for the musical number. They were adorable.

Then we squished in our house afterwards for a delicious lunch and  some chatting. This is when Makenna went downhill- she didn't feel well and wanted to lay down. But she has a mean mom that made her take a whole bunch of pictures first. :)

I think she felt really special all day, which is good because she really is special to us. I adore this girl who seems to be growing at an exponential rate. She is such a good girl and an important part of our family.  We are grateful she made this decision to be baptized.

All the love...

Makenna got her own set of scriptures from Travis and I for being baptized. She was so excited to have her very own set. Grandma showed her how to use the tabs and she sat there looking through them. So sweet.
