Happy Birthday Makenna!

Our sweet Makenna turned four years old today! I honestly can't believe that she is four already. That seems so old to me. The past four years have been the best of our lives. We wouldn't trade them for anything. Makenna has brought us more joy that we ever thought possible and we feel so blessed to be her parents. Thanks for every moment little Makenna and we love you so much!

Here are some funny things about Makenna at four years old:

• For some reason, she has started calling me mother (or "mudder" as she says it). I can't help but laugh every time she says "Yes Mudder".
• She is obsessed with the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie lately and quotes it. My favorite is when she says "Helllooo Gorgeous". (We heart Tivo for free movies!)
• She absolutely loves her little sister. She still has never shown any jealousy. She cannot stand to let Hadley cry. When Hadley wakes up from a nap, Makenna grabs toys and books and crawls into the crib and plays and reads to her. 
• She has watched me put our house together too much is the past few weeks.  She "decorates" her room with necklaces, purses, pictures she has drawn, stuffed animals, and pretty much anything that she thinks is "pretty".
• She adores her daddy. He is her hero. She gets so excited to play with him. A few of their favorite games are: chase all around the house, ponies, story time, "planting a garden" on each other's chests (AKA torture), Care Bear stare game, and hanging off his back while he walks around asking if anyone has seen Makenna and then he thinks she is a bug and jumps all around to get her off (apparently she just called it "Bug Sting Back").
• She has become very inquisitive. Today she asked, "Do butterflies have legs to help them land?" (Hmm...let me check on that one.) Or we had a conversation on dinosaurs and she was trying so hard to understand that they lived on earth before any people lived. Makenna said, "Hmm...maybe a mean man killed all of the dinosaurs". Well, it is a hard concept to grasp and she is only four. :)
• It became apparent to us that she watches too much tv when we heard her singing "Nationwide is on your side" while she was playing. We can't wait for warmer weather so that we can get out and play.
• She doesn't like my sister calling her "dude". She tells Morgan, "I am not a crazy dude. I am a girl."
