Turkey Day '11

We spent Thanksgiving with my family. My moms sure knows how to put on a delicious turkey dinner.   It was fun to just be together. My sister was a trooper and did the whole black Friday thing with me. We left at 10 at night and got back at 5 in the morning. It was fun to have some girl time, though my sister would have rather been sleeping and I, on the other hand, was just glad to be kid-free for a while. On Friday, Ian taught us how to play cribbage, which was fun even if Travis and I did lose.

Pre-Thanksgiving Gig

The day before Thanksgiving, my brother Ian played at the Sun Valley Brewery. It was fun to watch him perform. He wasn't nervous at all and put on a great show, almost all of which are songs he has written. I'm in awe with his talent, but even more with his perseverance in learning to play. He got a guitar for Christmas when he was in junior high and completely taught himself to play. Now he writes his own songs and loves to perform whether it's in front of a crowd or around the campfire. It was fun to watch him play with all of our family and lots of his friends.

Camden- 3 Months!

Our little man is already 3 months!!! I really can't believe we are already at the three month mile mark.It is speeding by but I am loving all the new things he is doing. Life has been super busy lately so I am feeling a little guilty that I haven't been able to just sit and snuggle him as often. But luckily, he is such an easy going baby and just goes with the flow. Plus, he is always getting love from his sisters.

Camden is definitely growing. At his two month appointment, he weighed 12 pounds 7 ounces! Impressive right- it must be my rich milk. Ha ha. He is definitely getting chunkier. He really filled in from the beginning of the month to the end. (The first picture below is the most recent. You can see how much he has changed.) He isn't as fragile and has better muscle control. He is so smiley and laughs. But our very favorite thing is how he "talks" to us. He really is a talker and it's about the cutest thing ever. I love our little conversations. He also loves to suck on his hands and has recently started holding toys. It's so much fun watching him learn new things.

His sisters still adore him. Makenna said to me, "Camden sure is loved, isn't he?"

Makenna was so proud that she put him to sleep and Hadley couldn't resist kissing him the entire time.

This was the funniest thing. Hadley decided she was going to dress Camden up. I get a good laugh every time I see this pictures. This poor little guy is in for it with two sisters. :)

Two Princesses and a Bat

We made it through Halloween this year. The girls both wanted to be princesses and we found Camden a cozy bat costume. I was glad we kept the costumes simple because poor Makenna was so sick. She had a horrible cough, sore throat, and constant fever. She was a trooper the whole weekend while we went to the school carnival and visited family and friends.

On Halloween, she decided she wanted to go to school after lunch. I am her room mom this year and when I arrived for the party, her head was on her desk. So, I called Travis and said she needed to go to the doctor. She just sat by me for most of the party and had to leave half way through it to go to the doctor (while I stayed for her party). :( She ended up having strep, so we were glad we took her in. And kudos to Travis for taking all three kids to the doctor and enduring the drama-rama of getting a throat swab from Makenna.

For Halloween night, we made our yummy traditional taco soup and cornbread. Then, Travis took Hadley trick-or-treating. Hadley can be so shy, so we told her she had to say "trick-or-treat" and "thank you". And she did and was so proud of herself. Travis said she was about the cutest thing and everyone told her what a beautiful princess she was. At one point she said, "Daddy, I am a beautiful princess." Yes she is.

Makenna stayed home with Camden and me to hand out candy. A lot of candy. We had 150+ trick-or-treaters which is a lot for our little town. She loved handing out the candy and felt so big. Then, when Hadley got home, she let her sick sister go through her candy and take whatever she wanted. Totally melted our hearts.
