Independence Day

We were staying at Wade Lake for the 4th of July. So, we decided to venture out for the day. We headed to Ennis, Montana. What a charming town. It was bumping when we were there. We walked along the streets enjoying live music, food, local stores, and lunch at the Ennis Cafe. 

Then, we headed to Virginia City. Virginia City is a mining ghost town that has been frozen in time. It is so well preserved and it is easy to imagine what it would have felt like to walk these streets during the Victorian Era. Makenna and Hadley were fascinated with the old stores, houses, blacksmith shops, nickel machines, horses, saloons, and trains. They especially enjoyed the ice cream and candy stores. It was a fun way to spend the day.

Then, we spent the evening at camp. No fireworks again for us this year. Oh well, we got to enjoy the pine trees instead.
