Travis had never been to Thousand Springs and it had been a long time for me. We stopped at the Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument. It was SO hot. It was 102 degrees and I swear the breeze was even hotter! We all stepped out of the car and couldn't believe the heat. But we explored the area nonetheless, mostly from our air-conidtioned car. The kids really liked learning about fossils at the visitor center. Then we drove to Thousand Springs. It really is such a neat site to see water just pouring out of the canyon rock wall. After sweating buckets after a short hike to see some waterfalls, the kids jumped in the crystal clear creek while Travis and I waded. The water really is remarkably clear. Then on our way home, we made sure to stop at the the creamery in Buhl for some delicious ice cream. It was nice to see a different part of Idaho for the day.
